Question TPS mounting position????

The front mounting screw for the TPS has some degree of play for mounting. I guess about a 1/4 inch.

Where should you set the postion before tightening the screw down?? All the way forward?? back, in the middle?? This movement also varies the revs/idle.

Your TPS shoud be adjusted so it produced a small "click" when you accelerate from idle (just move the cable with the hand and motor off to test)

This "click" enables your TPS to go from idle mode to normal mode.

That's why you have to find the correct position (and lock it correctly) for your TPS to produce the small click just at the beginning of the "acceleration"

Yup, that's why it's adjustable.

BTW one screw is just about impossible to get to with the tyhrottle body attached to the intake, take the whole throttle body off & it's much easier to get to & adjust accurately.

If so the idle won't stabilize correctly because the car will not make the proper mixture (if it doesn't know if you are idle of normal)

That's really easy to set up. Just put your TPS in place and try to move the accelerator cable. It should produce that little click immediatly

Take a look at the Lindsey Racing site (http://www.lindseyracing.com/) under "tech garage" for a step-by-step description for setting the idle, including adjusting the TPS. Clarks Garage (http://www.clarks-garage.com/) has a pretty good one too... as noted, it's not that tough.
