NZ951 - insurance over here is pretty insane compared to Aust & NZ. I know I will pay a premium for my modified 951when I take it back to Adelaide but it will still be less than here.

Adrial,
Yes I asked for a flaming, but didn't expect one so harsh.
Let me restate this turn, It wasn't a 90degree turn, it was a gradual 30degree or less turn. I was in 1st gear, with LSD. I did hit boost and i did expect it to not loose traction. Like I said, my stupidity cost me money.
Jeremy Himsel,
I checked that front end out, $800 seems kinda high, althou I don't know for sure. Sad thing is, I don't have $800 cash to throw down right now I planned on getting LR's aftermarket headerpanel.

Sorry about the car, can you get some pics up? The oil thing sounds nasty but if it turns out to be nothing major, you'll get it back in shape.

Thanks, Thats what I like to hear from someone thats wrecked one himself
I'll get the pics up tonight if I can. Providing that my digi-cam isn't broken and I can find decent light to get decent pictures with.

Find out why it's losing oil before you get too far into buying replacement panels. What was the oil pressure doing before the idle started to creep (if you can rememeber).
Now if I had just wrecked my front end, I'd be shopping at GT-racing and seriously considering widebody panels. Just think of this as an excuse to get faster and lighter parts...

Insurance costs can vary a lot, indeed.
I remember when I was 19 and having had my license suspended twice, my premium was ~$1200/6 months for full coverage on an early 944. Now I'm on the same policy with my sister, and we pay $540/6 months for full coverage on both a 944 turbo and a 98 accord coupe (ex v6).

WesM951,
I sure didn't want to hear this coming from one of the few fellow NW Ohio 951 owners.
I'm a new 951 owner and fairly concerned about driving the car this winter (not a daily driver). Yea, I'll do the parking lot and/or autocross thing to get the feel, but for me the insurance is definately worth it. It seems that, no matter how experienced the driver, things can get away from you now and again (not to mention all the other idiots you have to dodge on the road).
Anyway, best of luck with the repair. Hope to see you blowing down the turnpike by this summer!

sorry to hear it man, I hope you get her up and running soon. I don't have any spin stories, but then again I've been driving the car for a short period of time, and I'm CAREFUL with her... did you at least have fun spinning?
