Default cooling fans

last night while stopped at a red light, i noticed the engine temp steadily rising, it would cool off once i got moving, so when i got home i checked the fuses for the cooling fans, and sure enough they were blown. but when i put new fuses in, those blew immediately. do you think i just lost the ground to the fans? if so, where is the ground located, i havent been able to see it w/o taking off the nose and bumper.

Check the wiring to your fan resistors. These are two large white ceramic 0.8 ohm resistors located under the hood. They are under the black plastic cowling that covers the heater blower at the base of the windshield, to the right (passenger side) of the blower. The wire insulation overheats here and allows the power wires to short. Also check your fan wiring harness connectors for shorts, although I doubt both fans would shrt at the same time.
