Default 968 block, 6 speed LSD trans, 3 liter crank, 2.7 turbo head, turbo FS:

Spring cleaning the garage and these were for a future project but I have another drivetrain that takes over for the build so these items are all for sale all OBO. I would not hesitate to use any of these items right now in the condition they are in great used shape. Prices include shipping in the USA thanks please PM if interested

1993 968 engine block complete with matching girdle, balance shafts, and covers for sale bores are almost perfect 968 car had low 86k miles it was wrecked in the rear when I parted it 4 years ago block it has been cleaned oiled and sitting in garage in a bag since
$1,200 shipped

3 liter crankshaft with 86k miles in great condition journals all look excellent
$750 shipped

1989 2.7 head that was rebuilt and installed on a 3 liter 400hp 944 turbo engine running 16 psi with new guides, seals, valve job, clean up deck, with 951 sodium filled exhaust valves, and all 951 valve springs and retainers. This head was also O-ringed for performance and longevity in mind. It was on a street car for approx 20K miles and the motor was just parted. I wouldnt hesitate to use this head on a motor build right now just needs to be parts washed off. There is no signs of corrosion or pitting in the heads deck and very minor carbon on valve faces. The O-rings are in great shape still 360 deg around and drop in oil pressure valve is installed. This comes with a matching un-painted cam tower, loaded with a 951 camshaft and matching OEM lifters!

Bye the size of it I would compare it to a k27/8 Sorry I don't know what comp is in it and if it's ball bearing or not. It spins extremely easy for sitting in a box for a few years I know that. And when you try to move shaft laterally or side to side I get almost 0 movement it's nice and tight. I have looked inside both cold and hot sides with a flashlight to carefully see if there are any chips or chewed up fins and all corners look very clean. $650 shipped
Kokeln had two turbo's. 61#/Stage 3 Turbine (called it Street) and 61#/Stage 5 Turbine (called it Club).

If it has 11 turbine blades, it's the street. 10 blades it's the club.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the specs Mike I appreciate it!

This Kokeln turbo I have has 11 blades on exhaust turbine so it would be the street version and thus most likely spools up a bit faster and flows a bit less than a cheater housing.

Keen on the Block and Crank.
I wonder what the shipping costs would be to Australia?

Not that bad Jarod. Especially if you ship rather than fly it.

Forgive the ignorance - is the transaxle compatible with the 944 mount & CV's/half shafts?

I'm also curious what it would take to mount the trans in a 944... Also do you happen to have a gear chart for that box? Mostly curious what the top speed in second gear at 7,000RPM with 245/45 16 tires.

Thanks!

According to my notes, the 968 2nd gear is 2:1, and the f.d. is 3.777:1, so the effective 2nd ratio is 7.555. According to some rough math, at 7000rpm you'd be going about 66mph.

A 951's 2nd gear is 35/17:1 (2.059:1) and f.d. is 3.375 for effective ratio of 6.95.

The CV's are different, IIRC the trans mounts in the same place.

Yes, axles are different, trans mount is the same, shift rod is different, reverse switch connection is different, and it has no speedometer sensor as the 968 gets speedometer signal from ABS.

There are threads on the conversion.
