Default Engine preservation

I'm replacing the stock engine and turbo in an 86 951. I want to keep the engine as a spare. Do you have any recommendations on how best to preserve and store this engine as a spare?

There is a process called "pickeling" used by the aircraft people. Museums use it. The latest issue of Sport Aviation has an article that describes it. This magazine is the club newsletter for the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). You might be able to find it at the EAA website. It basically involves pouring oil in the cylinders and turning the engine over to spread it around. Then you seal up openings like water passages and oil fittings.
