Default 104mm bored head gasket

I upgrade my 951 to 2.7l with a 104mm bore. The problem is there is no 104 mm head gasket to match. I found only 103mm or 106mm mls cometic gasket. What is the better match????

Cometic will make whatever bore you want for no extra cost. Also, it only takes about a week to get it! Call them.

By my measurements, the fire ring inside diameter on a standard 944/968 head gasket is 2mm bigger than the bore. So the head gasket for a 100mm bore has a 102mm opening, and the head gasket for a 104mm bore has a 106mm opening. So that 106mm gasket you found might be just what you need, if you mean the fire ring is actually 106mm across.

Edit: Just noticed you are talking about MLS gaskets. I was referring to standard and widefire gaskets, not MLS -- so worth a call to see how they spec the opening relative to the bore, as it may or may not be the same.

Was there any resolution to the original question for the gasket sizing?

For 104mm bore, you want a 106mm gasket.
