Is it enough to get two nuts on? My first attempt would be get two nuts on, jam the nuts together and try to extract the stud. If they just spin on the stud, then I would apply a lot of heat to the flange (not the stud) and try to take it out when it is hot. If that fails, then i'll use a bolt extractor.

Lastly, if that fails i'll weld a nut onto the stud. I really try to the max extent possible to not have to drill/tap the threads. However I did put myself into a pickle when I tried to extract a broken bolt and the cheap extractor (this kind)

broke inside the bolt. Then I couldn't even drill it out since the steel of the extractor was so hard! Took about an hour to just drill it out. Anyway, good luck!

I used one of these to get out all my studs.

Even worked a charm on the head studs.

Weld a nut on the remaining parts that's sticking out. Cue Van and his video...
