Default URGENT - Advice required on tyre-rim damage

Hello I need urgent advice on whether I can travel a long distance (london to italy!) considering the damage to the tyre rims, as you can see in the photos attached. I have replaced the tyres, so they're good to go, just concerned about the rim.

If you have a few days, purchase a good used set of those phone dials. I wouldn't drive with these wheels over a few slow miles to the shop that will remove the tires and install on new or good used wheels. Used phone dial wheels are fairly cheap. The integrity of that cast wheel is shot.

That wheel must be repaired (hammered back to shape, welded if necessary, grinded and balanced) to drive it, else it might loose air in the middle of braking, cornering etc and you don't want that.

This type of damage is easily fixed.

Check out these repairs..

1) I totally agree with the guys above. Do NOT drive on these in current condition. Them being off-balance is the least of your problems. Either replace them or get them repaired in a specialized wheel shop. Repair of your wheels should be pretty straightforward.

Voith - as for the link you pasted - i don't know any wheel specialist here in Poland who would agree to fix some of the wheels shown on that site.. I doubt it's even doable with reasonable safety margin.

Ive seen even much worse wheels welded back together and repaired. Wouldn't want to drive on it but as far as I know not one of repaired wheels ever failed.

It definitely takes guts to make such wheel reanimations and sell them to people that drive their children to school with them..

My cookie cutter wheel was hit directly and they were able to straighten and paint it in a day. That wheel is not safe so please do not drive with it until repaired or replaced. At least in USA phone dials are cheap, hope you have luck with repair or new rim.

+1 -- I would not drive on those wheels.
