Mysterious 951 on BaT features a random 951S intake manifold.
Questions for the experts!
There's a 1988 944 Turbo being auctioned on Bring a Trailer. It has a set of painted Turbo S Club Sport wheels, but the seller says they are not original to the car.
Strangely, it also features a Turbo S intake manifold with the dual vacuum ports between the #3 and #4 runners. The seller has provided additional photos to confirm. Just click on "See More Photos" link at the end of the gallery to see them.
Seller says there is no documentation mentioning an intake manifold swap, and it appears to match the patina of the rest of the engine. Options sticker does not indicate a Turbo S. (no M030, M220 or Silver Rose exclusive M758).
How did this 951S intake manifold appear on a regular 951? What does that extra vacuum port connect to?

Wow that must be one of the cleanest interiors I have ever seen. Very nice car.

I wouldn't loose much sleep over components like that. From Porsche's own admission, during assembly they would take updated parts off of the shelf and apply them to the cars as they came through regardless of whether the car was "supposed" to have them. Pretty common on 85.5 cars and 87/88 cars because Porsche was superseding quite a few components.
