hi all,

does anybody know if there were any seam welds in 951s from any MY? i've heard (forget where) that the turbo S etc had them, but that may have just been hearsay. i've never seen any.

I think only factory cup cars for IMSA racing were seam welded. I do not believe any of the street cars were ever seam welded.

Actually the TurboS didn't have seam welds. Just a little extra gusset in front of the strut-towers down by the fenders.

Hi Facboy,

I seanwelded (not fully in fact, but close) my entire chassis after I dipped it.

It makes the whole setup a lot stiffer. A welded front, the gussets and a strut brace together with a swaybar go a long way into preventing understeer on a dry day.
