Default No Start issue

We have a 1987 951. The car has the mtune and was running fine. Lately, the car was popping out the exhaust. It stalled a few times, but restarted. I changed the plugs and it still ran rough. I took it out and got on it a bit and it popped then stalled, now no start. Belt looks fine, checked the DME, bypassed it and still no start. I am thinking a relay or sensor may have failed.

Any ideas or comments?

Do you get "tach bounce" while cranking it? Like 1/8th of an inch of bounce of the tach for each crank. If that isn't happening, and the needle isn't moving during cranking, then your speed / reference sensors may be failing.

wiggle the speed and reference sensors wires and plugs and see if that makes a difference. it's not necessary the sensors, most of the time, it's the loom for the sensors.

Yeah, those connectors on the bracket in back of intake need to be wiggled to start sometimes on my 951. There is a kit to replace these connectors on eBay right now I was going to purchase. Housings and pins though you can also replace sensors and get the wire kit to the ecu.

I have power to the coil but no spark
Tested the coil, .07 ohms positive to negative and 5.44 ohms positive to coil output.

Stephen,

Did you pop the distributor cap yet? Wondering if it could be something simple such as cap/rotor.

I think the coil is the issue. .07 is past the acceptable range.
