Haven't seen a thread. Know someone else's has thought of it too. Who has engine specs?
Hopefully my beating won't be too severe....

Lower center-of-gravity.

Perfect 2nd-order harmonics, no balance-shafts needed.

That was the first thing I thought too and all I can think is I hope they don't. I don't think Subaru's sound bad, but they are very distinctive and to my ears not at all how a Porsche of any kind should sound.

Now who is taking odds on how long before some crazy 944 owner fits one ?

Check out videos of Subarus with equal length headers - it pretty much negates that distinctive Subaru sound and makes it sound more like a normal 4-cylinder, but better because hey, it's aftermarket headers.

It's a sound I could associate with a Porsche, so I hope that's what they have, or at least, that they become available in the aftermarket.

Boxer 4 sound very distinctive and much different than R4 regardless of runner lenght.
