I am also going through the same thing. My car was repainted extremily poorily, you can actually scratch it off with your fingernail. I want speed yellow but im afraid of getting to much attention from the police. I also love sami951's color, and am thinking of doing that. Black i think also looks very good on 951s, but seems like it would be to hard to keep clean(i live in dusty AZ). washington951 i would also love to see some more pics of your car. Your avatar is beautiful.

I've never seen a 'slate grey' 951 and I dont see it as n/e of the factory paint codes.... I know that was a 964 color. Does anybody have a pic of a slate grey 951?

you know...one thought. i had a Guards Red 951 before this Satin Black Metallic one. i think i got 'messed with' on the road in the red one. not surprising, i guess, but this 951 is MUCH faster than my red 86 was and it doesn't attract the street racers NEARLY as much....

i guess my point is - how much attention to you REALLY want?!

Shea, be warned that graphite is a pain in the *** to keep clean ... maybe not just as much as black, but it's close. Other than that it's a nice colour

Reno is right. I have black (with black leather interior) and it does get HOT in the summer! The body gets too hot to even touch when it's been out in the sun. That can't be good for the paint in the long run, although mine has held up well because it's been mostly garaged when not on the street. Black does look beautiful when it's clean, but it is a bear to keep it clean. I think the same would be true with other dark colors.

I used to have a Guards Red 944 NA. It's striking and racy in appearance, but I found it attracted too much attention, especially from the wrong people... Black is much more stealthy.

Yes, red attracts a LOT of attention from all sorts of folks. Policemen, highway patrol, rent-a-cops, and of course the occasional street racer (ike the guy in the stock Neon that wanted to race me a couple of days ago).

I've always liked artic silver for these cars.

Classic GUARDS RED.

Nothing says Porsche more than Guards Red.

I've owned several Porsches in these colors and have never had any issues with local police or the highway patrol (hard to believe given my car... but true).

Its true though. When i had my guards red 85.5 N/A so many people wanted to race me on the streets. Even this old man with his truck. The sad part is he beat me. My 951 is black and not to many people try and race me. I had this car for 1/2 year and only 1 person attempted to race. He had a GSR. I won't even tell you the results of the race.

That's hilarious!

I'll second that. I had quite a few more people interested in my NA and practically nobody interested in the 951. It might just have something to do with the fact that i've only managed to put 5.5k on it in a year an half. Then again my NA was pretty nice.

I second that Rainforest green. That's really sharp looking
