Need to fire my refreshed 3.0L 16v build and I'd like to do it with a Haltech. The previous engine management system (Euro1) is no longer supported and a knowledgeable Euro1 tuner is probably nonexistent at this point.
Question: Does anyone have mapping for the Haltech that would work as a baseline?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure of anyone working with a Haltech on one of those motors? Down here Haltech is regarded as OK to good. MoTeC is regarded above that. Best to go with something that has best support locally to you I feel.

I am doing the exact same thing as you. I have the Elite 1500 and the support is right here in Kentucky I think. I talked to them on the phone and they are extremely helpful so the support is here. The box may be ok to good but is has all the features you could want and there are a lot of drag guys using it here in the US so it has some following. Motec will cost you 3 times the price but will not deliver 3 times the performance. Unfortunately I'm about 8 months behind you because of my job is keeping me away.

I need the exact same thing. I have platinum sport 1000 and will use it with 3.0 16v.
As far as I know Chris White uses haltech PS2000 on his 968 turbo but I couldnt get hm to respond..
I asked haltech too but the don't have 3.0 basemaps..

Motec is 10x more expensive when all functions that are free on haltech are unlocked.

I guess it depends on where you live. For once, we get something cheaper than our US friends. Which is as it should be considering that we're the centre of the ECU universe down here. Not the case with other parts and products we make though. Crazy world.
Motec isn't that expensive and that's including unlocking the features that most of us will use. But as it would seem Haltech has enough of a following then go that way. Doubt anyone has a base map for you though.

I was looking in to motec but full package with ADL, gps, CAN wideband etc costs a small fortune. Not so with Haltech. That plus some Motec stuff is a bit archaic, ADL 3 16mb memory is one of them imo..
Upgrade to 250mb is possible but costs 868€+VAT so over 1000€, Haltech's IQ3 is upgradeable from 1GB to 32GB for a price of miniSD, so about 30€..

What tables within the tune do you need? If you're doing a speed density, I have a ton of VE tables. I also have a 944S spark map that would be a good conservative starting point and a solid injector timing table for sequential or semi sequential fuel.

Ill use ITBs so if I understand this correctly, the best route is TPS/MAP. I need spark & fuel maps to at least start the engine.

For ITBs alpha-N tuning seems to be the most usable algorithm. That would be TPS/rpm, not TPS/MAP. The problem with MAP is that you can't always get a good reading with an ITB manifold. Most standalones support blended speed density/alpha-N.

Must learn more on this. If the tuning of turbo itb engine will prove to be too dificult, Ill use the standard single TB configuration.
What is the collective opinion on Haltech CAN wideband? If I understand correctly it is capable of controlling AFR real time and has built in sensor error control that reports to ECU and shuts off if sensor is faulty..

Living in the UK, I quite reasonably bought a ViPec V88 from the UK Distributor, Mark Shead of MA Developments. When Vic Pauer refused to sell me a terminated wiring harness because I didn't buy the ECU from him I looked at alternatives.
Mark put me onto a new Australian ECU which is considerably more powerful than the ViPec & is a competitor for the MoTec M-series but with all functions unlocked - the Emtron KV8 - which is doing well in Time Attack.
Started in 2013 by Scott Kuhner - he sought to provide Motec performance but without the extortionately expensive Motec business model of locking functionality & only releasing it for a licensing fee.
There's a 1000 bhp Mitsi Evo running it over here.
I haven't installed it yet but it's an option which Mark believes may be challenging Motec in the next few years.
Apparently the UI is really friendly.
