Stupid questions regarding tuner pro/M tune
Well I got tunerpro installed and working and bin and XDF files loaded.
I plugged in The (Ostrich) tuner, and clicked the *plug* button and it shows tuner is there. I can change parameters and upload and save etc but all this is without it plugged into dme.
My stupid questions are about hooking it up to dme.
I assume 28 pin M tune chip stays in DME when I hook up tuner ?
I also assume I take out the 40 pin chip and plug ostrich into its socket or does it piggy back with chip ?
btw I dont have car here with me so trying to get my head around what needs to happen when I get laptop to the car.
sorrry for what are probably silly questions but am desperate to get car going
TIA

Bruce,
Leave the 40pin chip in-place.
Switch the ECU to '24 pin' mode (switch is by where the normal 24/28pin chip is located).
Then plug the DME Tuner/Ostrich cable into the 28pin socket (make sure you get the orientation correct).
Make sure you are using the files I emailed (don't use the files off my website, as they are for the older version of the M-Tune software).
Upload the .bin to the Tuner, and the car should be ready to go.

Hi Josh, I have a couple questions along the same lines as this...
So, am I right in assuming that as long as the ECU tuner is being used, there is no need for the chips that come with the m-tune MAF kit?
I got a maf kit, as well as the rogue dme, tuner and logger from Lart a couple days ago and have been reading up on what I need to do when it gets here and I can install it.
Should I install just the MAF kit and rogue DME for now, using the chip that comes with the MAF kit? Using the 4 switches on the chip board to pick the tune that suits my engine?
Then, if it doesn't run well, or I feel like optimizing the tuning, I take out the chip and plug the tuner in it's place, but email you for a suitable base map first? Ie, I can't use the tuner to edit the maps that are on the chip that comes with the maf kit?
