Default Delrin Sway Bar Bushing Fitment Question

I installed some Delrin sway bar bushings on my car today and I had a hell of a time getting them on. And when I ended, it doesn't appear to be fitting as it should and just wondering if they normally fit perfectly or if this is common and acceptable?

You can see the gap on the left side (rear side) of the bushing and then also you can see the bracket appears to be not fully compressed.

What's the proper way to install these bushings? It's not easy to open the metal bracket to get the bushing in and Delrin doesn't budge when trying to squeeze it in.

It also seems that the bushing is positioned where the bar begins to curve, further complicating the fitment.

Bushings are from Paragon and sway bar is front M030 26.8mm on an 86 951. Bushing size is correct.

Did you replace the bushing clamp when you installed the 26.8mm bar on your car?

It looks like you have both sides of the bracket on one side of the mounting tab. The tab should be sandwiched between the sway bar bracket, which should relax its grip on the bushing.

Yup, looks like that could be it. Are the 87 and later clips actually bigger?

I've always seen them both on one side....are you sure they should be sandwiched? I'm sure it makes the assembly even more difficult. (These brackets always seem more problematic to install than they should.)

Well, it may be that it's not supposed to be sandwiched. I recently replaced a sway bar bushing and did it that way, which seems to make sense to me from a strength perspective. But, if there is a slightly larger bracket that is supposed to go with that bigger sway bar, I'm sure that will help a lot regardless of how it's bolted up. Cheers!
