I've defected...I've gone and join the 996 gang. I bought an 03 targa a little over a month ago. It was totally unexpected, I got an incredible deal on a new one and the nice one about this is it has the sport exhaust. One test drive was all it took. It sounds sooo good. The only drawback to the sport exhaust is how the loud exhaust note disappears while idling but starts the minute you give it gas. This car is fast too, a huge difference from the 99 I drove last year.

I unfortunately have to sell my 89 951 since I only have a one car garage. If anyone is looking for one here is the link to my rennlist ad:

Remove that awful bra at once...Is it factory? It doesnt even look like it fits. Now for the good stuff: Are you going to use the 996 as a daily driver? We have been looking at 993s but the 996 prices are so close we might lean that way (for the updated interior, etc). I would love to updates occasionally as to likes and dislikes of the new car. Congrats, BTW.

Mike---->I got the car for 10k below sticker and they also gave me a factory bra, 2 t-shirts, 2 caps, and 2 factory key chains for free. The glass roof is incredible, a totally different driving experience.

Matt H---->Thanks...It is factory. They were in a hurry when they installed it and it was not hot enough to make the bra pliable prior to install. No, I work in Manhattan, so I take the ferry to work. It's basically for the weekends and long trips. If you are going to use it as a daily driver, I'd recommend the 996, but the later models. Currently, absolutely no dislikes and no problems whatsoever. I really like the Michelin Pilots a lot!
