951 valve guide question
So i bought some 944/951 valve guides off ebay motors for my 944 turbo. Machine shop called and said they were a few thousandths of an inch too big. He said that he can make them fit, by cooling them and heating the head, but they might crack the head when they expand. The brand is Canyon and part number is 944 104 328 51. Do these not go to my porsche? I was under the impression that 944 NA and turbo heads were identical. Am i wrong?
Please give me some ideas. I know this might not be enough info, but I just got off a 12 hour graveyard shift. Bed time. Hope to wake up to some good ideas. Thanks everyone.

I just finished a valve job on my '88 951 and used the same guides (Canyon, same part number). That is the guide that Pelican sells for the 951.
The machinist that did the work did not report any issues, but I'm not sure what he needed to do to press them into place though.

Your machine shop is incompetent. DO NOT let them install the guides that are too big for the bore! You're asking for your head to be ruined. This situation is not uncommon (guides with too large OD) and a good machine shop should be able to reduce the diameter for the correct press fit. Find one that can.
