Default Anyone use redline oil in the tranny?

Just wondering which redline synthetic people use in the tranny? And for the diff. I would think Mobil 1 80-90w synthetic would be fine?

trans and diff use the same oil, they are in the same housing. If you have a limited slip, do not use Mobil synthetic gear oil, while I like it for non LS trans, it is not designed for LS diffs. and your clutches will chatter.

I use Redline, a mix of Heavy Shockproof and 75w90NS - only because I already put in some of the 75w90NS and didn't want to waste it, then found the shop DID have Heavy Shockproof! In the future, it'll always be 100% Heavy Shockproof. This is in a non-LSD tranny.

Redline is a very good fluid but I switched from redline to amsoil and noticed a big difference. The LSD was an option in 86.

Any identifying marks on outside to tell if its an LSD?

Check your spare tire well to see if you have option 220. That is the LSD code.

99% sure it will go out today. I left it on my toolbox this morning, instead of putting in my briefcase, so I'll have to take it down to one of those UPS satellite shops after work. If that's the case I won't be able to get you your tracking number until tomorrow. The only thing that would prevent it going out today is if I get hung up with an emergency at work today. I spilled a full 24oz cup of coffee on my passenger seat this morning so anything's possible today. I'll let you know first thing in the morning.

I run redline heavy shockproof in my Turbo S LSD box and my NA open race box. I like the stuff.

LSD is limited slip differential meaning both rear tires want to dig in at the same time.
I spoke with a tech guy at redline and he recommended the MT90 for our cars saying it was a GL4 oil which Porsche recommends. Full synthetic also so in the colder weather before it warms up the car should shift much easier.

Motul Gear 300 is also supposed to be very good!
It's still on the shelf and not in the gearbox yet however..

I use Redline Heavy Shockproof in my 75% lsd race tranny. Seems to work great.
