If so, how many miles has it done since they prepped it up ?

It's not an issue of his ability to build a racecar/engine. It's the fact that he's auctioning off something that doesn't exist.
He's showing a picture of a different engine.
Why not just get on the Rennlist and say... "Hey.. I build engines. Anybody need a engine?"

Thom, sorry, I should have explained it better. David has built the same motor for his car and he has over 90K miles on his motor. So my motor should have no trouble lasting a while.

Good discussion all. Reason I'm asking, we got a new PCA member who has a silver 951 and a Milledge engine. I've yet to see the car or talk with its owner. But I can't wait!
Powerhaus is fairly close to home and is a more feasible upgrade source.
DFASTEST951's car is street legal and so is this Milledge engine built 951. For street, I want reliability. I would want a $20+K investment to last at least 100K miles. 500hp may be asking too much for reliable fun, but from what I've heard, DFASTEST's car is close.
TonyG, you been to Willow Springs lately? I'd like to see your car. I wanted to go to Ventura, but my wife said our anniversary weekend was not going to include cars ;o) And the Autofest always seems to fall on the same weekend (sigh)...

I'm in Rosamond, right next to the raceway. 'Bout 5 minute drive. Let me know if you'll be running, and I'll try to catch you in the pits sometime. Also, let me know what your car looks like, so I know which one to keep my eye on.

First off- I noticed in the Broadfoot ebay auction, the size of the bore (104mm- this has been done) & crank (92mm)- did I miss something here in the months I've been away? Are they doing a custom crank for these cars? If not, where is it coming from? I've only heard of people using 968 crank- 87.8mm vs 78.9mm stock 951. The disp would be 3127cc's (by my hurried math). THEN, there's the whole car, listing 3.2L disp- either it's the same #'s rounded up to exxagerate, OR, if using 106mm bore (the largest I'M aware of), then 3249cc... Anyway, I was just curious...
Another builder you might consider- Scott Gomes- Underpressure Performance- he's built some extremely powerful engines...

There is no factory 92mm stoke crank, and I could be wrong, but there is no aftermarket 92mm stoke crank either.
That means to get the 92mm stroke they would have to weld/offset grind the crank, which would not be the smartest idea on a 2+hp/cubic inch engine. I hope this isn't the case.

HMMMM... THAT's pretty interesting- I'd love to find out more about this "92mm Stoked, knife-edged, lightend, balanced, Cross-drilled, and Nitrided Crank" then...
Another thing I would like to know about is how these newer large disp engines are running(?)- for a long time, the only one's you ever heard of were the 2.8L's via 968 stroker crank, but, now there are many people boring the blocks & sometimes, boring AND stroking- I'm still a little leary of boring these puppies myself, but just want to hear what's happening w/some of the other's- I'd hat to hear about them having early failures, etc, although I DO know of a couple already- not sure WHAT the actual causes were, but still- there have just been a lot of them talked about the last year or two & I'd like to find about more of them... Any input?
Thanks,
robby

As far as Broadfoot goes, he may know his stuff, but without slinging any mud, I would advise anyone considering his services to get a very specifically detailed written contract in place with him prior to engaging his services (which is good advise when spending large sums of money on anything, actually). Buyer beware.
