Question Newbie question

Hello everyone

Well I am new to this group but I have been lurking around for more than a year now. I have learn a lot from all of you and have found answers to almost all questions true this group. This is a very good reason of why I did not post in the past, the other is that my English is kind of weak (French from Quebec). But this time I have to take the plunge because i really need help solving my problem.

After a little incident whit my engine I have to take some decisions for my next year track season. Here my question; I blew my head gasket on my 2.8 stroker and found out when I remove the head for the repair that the #1 cylinder wall was badly damage due to a broken ring. Scoring is important and it will require more than .75mm (bore) to refinish the wall properly. Now what should I do?
I want to keep my 3 litres crank and rod but I will need new pistons, rings and all the tralala (seals stud’s gaskets etc.).

What should be my route in this reconstruction project?

How big can I bore or how big should I bore (block is 44/52) 102mm, 103mm ….. What kind of pistons and rings is available, should I think about sleeves and do you think that bore and stroke engine can be reliable especially for the track.

Thank in advance for all your suggestions and advices

Mic
