I am going to have those style vents on my fiberglass hood and use lexan in the center to show off my shiny expensive engine parts. My hood is warped in the center so might as well replace it right?

It really does snow in AZ! The Apache Reservation folks don't love us though. Last pick is a driveway when you don't have a 5' snow dump.

Anyone use/familiar with Zircotec?
And regarding the gold foil, my understanding of the original McLaren F1 by Gordon Murray used aerospace gold foil because it had the best properties for heat rejection for its weight.
George D, thanks for sharing your experience an insight.

My wrapped upper charge pipe is easily the coolest piece of metal under my hood after hard runs.
It stays cooler running hard, I can literally kiss my TB and intake manifold after WOT runs @ 13psi, TB is cooler than my lips, I can put my cheek right on them, the small bare spot on my wrapped upper charge tube is even cooler yet...

Putzing around, idling, and after shutdown the intake and wrapped upper charge tube heat soak more readily, a whole lot of well intercooled air running through them keep them cool..

As a comparison, before my IC you could fry bacon on the same upper charge tube after any type of running even at stock boost.. No way you would rest your hand on the TB or intake manifold either... HOT..

The wrap DOES help a lot, after IC and then after wrap kept it much cooler, It was hotter than the TB before wrap and now it's cooler than the TB (after IC)..

there is an aluminum lower charge tube also and that is the hottest post IC part of the intake now, it sits right above the turbo, I haven't wrapped it yet because I need to fill weld its outside in order to port out its inside bigger, haven't quite got that far, but it will get wrapped after the mod..

I am so impressed with how much cooler my intake is after my mods it amazes me (mainly IC), my 931 intake is likely the coolest intake I have ever witnessed on any car, the harder its run the cooler it stays but like I said will get warmer after shutdown, before the whole intake was ridiculously hot all the time no matter what..
