Is anybody running 255/35/18's or 265/35/18's on the fronts with 9 or 9.5" rims? If so, I would like to know which offset you have. Thanks!

Hey Eric, IICR Patrick ran 275 30 r18 on a 10" rim +60 offset at the front on a late offset car. Was a Enkei NT0-3
i have a 8.5" +50 offset and 20mm spacer with a 265 35 r18 tyre. at the front. on early offset car.
This is the best calculator i've used to work out offsets ect.

I run an 18X10 et58 with 255 tire. This is with 2.5" springs and suspension adjusted to clear, but it will give you an idea of what you have to work with on your turbo S.

For best performance, I'd go with JustinL's configuration of 10" rim. You'll get better grip with either tyre-width than on narrower rims.
For clearance, you'll want to INCREASE offset over stock. Like what Porsche did in going from Turbo to TurboS. So 10" rim with ET60 to 65mm offset would be perfect.

Thanks to everyone for all the great information! My setup is slightly different, but should have enough information here to make an informed decision! While I have an '89, I have swapped the M030 spindles to 1988 Non-M030 ABS spindles. This places the wheel 3 mm further inboard, some but not much. I like the idea of the 10 inch fronts. Forgeline was recommending 59 mm offset with the 9.5" rims. Looks like they were pretty spot on. I will discuss the 10" option with Karl Poeltl and see what he thinks. 275's in the front on a street car sound like a bit much, but I guess not that much more than the 265's. I was thinking 255/35/18's on the front as the have identical height as the 295/30/18 rears. If I go to 11.5" rears I maybe able to squeeze 305/30/18's but there just aren't too many made in that size.

Eric, Pauly is correct in what I ran. I had to get the fenders rolled plus had the smaller diameter springs and ran about -3.5 camber. But I'm pretty sure I had 'reasonable' amount of clearance on the inside. Hard to remember back then.
In regards to sizes I'm guessing you know my opinion. Larger the better up front. Especially if you're going to shoehorn 305's in the rear. A 255 / 305 stagger is too much in my opinion. Too much front end push, especially in tight corners. Assuming you're keeping power steering, try to fit the largest front combo you can. Can you test fit some 10"s on there? Also will be somewhat dependent on what tyre choices you have. I pretty much only ran R specs on my car. Couldn't go back to street tyres after that level of grip. But the downside is wear and the wet.

Thanks Patrick!
I am quite certain the 9.5" with 265/35/18's will fit just fine and will pair fairly well with the 295's. Getting the 305's to fit perfectly might be a chore.

Yes that should fit comfortably Eric. Where are you at overall on the car?

Hi Patrick, that is a good question. This is becoming very frustrating. I fly a lot for work and have to rely on many vendors for stuff. It is the Florida car all over again unfortunately. I doubt this car will be done anytime soon. So many broken promises that I can't even begin to mention them all. The crank alone took nearly a year. Which I thought could not be beat, but the other stuff is taking even longer. Best guess would be another year if I am very lucky.

Oh, that's crap. Sorry to hear. Comes with custom cars though.
