Help! Clutch time for the '88 Turbo S. Clutch spring suspected broken at 67K miles.

Those springs are known to break. Use the cup clutch disk instead. It doesn't have those little springs and you will never miss them. Have you confirmed the transmission goes in and out of gear normally now? I bet a decent percentage of those disks have missing springs. So while that was "probably" it, you might as well confirm before putting everything back together.

Thanks Tom. The shop did put a cup clutch disc in as a replacement, so we should be all set there. They're making sure everything's all set while putting it back together today. I appreciate the advice, thanks again!

Well, that did it. Engages, disengages and shifts like the day it was born. It's a pleasure to drive again, as you might expect. Thanks for the advice, everyone!
