Dude... why don't you subscribe and get a Carfax yourself. It isn't much money, and since you're obviously looking to buy a car, it's a rather inexpensive insurance policy...
I will give you some good advise though...
Carfax isn't reliable. How do I know? Glad you asked.
A couple of years ago, I purchased a 1985 Euro Cab Carrera from a friend. The car had a salvage title which I knew. No secrets...
But just for the heck of it... to check the accuracy of Carfax, I subscribed, and ran the car... just to see how accurate Carfax was.
Guess what! Carfax reported the car as not having a salvage title!!!!!!
WOW. I was very surprised. I would have expected that it would possibly miss little stuff like owner transfers, or sale of title, etc...
But to miss a SALVAGE TITLE????????
It's a good damn thing that I knew full well that the car had a salvage title and didn't rely on Carfax to authenticate the cars history....
