Default Low Boost... Will I pass CA smog?

I don't get past about 1.1 - 1.2 bar on the stock gauge, so I'm assuming that I'm running rich at mid to upper RPM's. I'm pretty sure it's the wastegate, but I don't have the money right now to replace it. Anyways, I have to get my car smogged in California (dyno test) and I'm wondering if the low boost will affect anything. TIA!

The boost really won't matter, but if you're running rich it's going to cause problems. On the dyno they measure idle and at 3,000rpm's right? At 3k you should just be getting into boost say around 5psi i'm guessing...that shouldn't make a difference if you're mixture is right.

Burbank is subject to Smog Check 2, so it's dyno based loaded on the rollers at 15 and 25 mph. Are you sure it's going to be running rich? You won't even be close to full throttle open loop operation so it may pass. My '89 951 with 189,000 miles easily passed using Weltmeister chips.

Do they run a load at 3,000 rpm? If not, the boost should hardly be on.

Hahah my car passed California pre-smog even with a vacuum leak and tons of fuel being dumped in at idle to compensate. I took it back to get smogged after fixing the leak and it made practically zero emissions of any kind. You should pass no prob.

It's the visual inspections that kill!

Ok thanks for the input... I guess it probably isn't too much to worry about

Update: I passed, albeit it was a little close. No idea if it was related to the boost though.
