Question Can I use ceracoated NA valves for a turbocharged engine?

Hi,

I received my 16v head from a machine shop, where it had some simple modifications done and I was wondering whether I can use the stock 16v valves for a 16v turbo engine. If it helps, I can coat them in ceramic as I will most likely coat the entire combustion chamber...

Unless you are planning to race heavily, stock valves are more than adequate.

Interesting valve material and coatngs literature.

Ceramic thermal barrier coatings may also be applied to the combustion sideof the valve head to
reflect heat back into the combustion chamber. The theory here is that a heat reflective coating
helps the valves run cooler. This helps the exhaust valves run cooler and last longer, and reduces
heat transfer from the intake valves to the incoming air/fuel mixture for a denser, more powerful
mixture. Heat reflected back into the combustion chamber also improves burning efficiency and
power.

To answer myself, and for anyone that looks for the same answers in the future - Duke's 514hp monster proven this being solid so yes, you can use stock n/a valves for turbo application.

Case closed i guess.
