Hi all, new turbo owner and previous Rennlist lurker.
Purchased a 86 951 last month and while going through everything decided a real boost gauge was in dire need of being installed as the one in the dash does not move anymore. Upon getting to the DME & KLR I noticed the tabs holding the cover have been bent before and decided to find out what had been done inside. No shock as the car boosts to about 14 psi, but there it was, an Authority chip in place of the factory one.
I've googled the numbers on the chip and came up with nothing that had a logical explanation as to what it might be. The numbers are POR 951.1.200 and there was a copyright of 1990 along with the Authority name and serial number. IO checked the FQS setting and it looks to be untouched, have not checked the banjo bolt for restriction yet, and the engine retains the factory airflow meter.
Anyone have an idea about these numbers on this chip??
My car came with stock chips but had the stage 2 installed. I have the original Autothority paperwork that came with them too. Is there a difference between stage 1 & 2?
I realized I've been spelling Autothority wrong as well lol I feel like a dummy. Either way here is the pic. I suppose it doesn't matter if I figure out what stage these chips are, I won't be needing them for long. Figured it would be nice to know what I'm starting out with before the heavy mod gremlin bites me in my hiny
