Default Crank Work in Bay Area?

Can anyone recommend a good machine shop to polish and drill a crank in the SF bay area.

Good call. I think Ed asked him but can't quite remember why that didn't pan out. Will check.

You can take it to Mike Stimson or you could always ship it to Armando in Texas - PM me if you need his contact info.

I thought Mike used Armando? If not, I'll all him for sure, thanks.

Have you had Armando do anything for you since moving? A local friend has been having a real challenge getting his parts done that way.

It may not be close to you, but I send all of my special cranks to Marine Crankshaft. They just did a wonderful job on a Bmw M3 S65 V8 crankshaft that needed one main and two rod journals welded up to stock...Nitride treated and balanced for an 8500rpm V8.

Depends on what you want done Tom but perhaps contact Performance Developments in SoCal. This is a crank they had prepared which I think will be going into a backup 8v motor we're 'throwing' together. It will be re polished before going back into a block.

Yes, very much depends on what you want done and what kind of specs you want to hold after completion. Offset grinds are complicated to do correctly and most shops will not perform Nitriding.
