There is no exhaust cam per se.

Huh....?

One cam is driven outside the head by toothed gear via an extension that is part of the cam just like an 8V engine and the other follows by cam chain and sprocket at the cam's center.

He wants the long cam with the nose keyed for the external belt drive gear.

They are different, so yeah....there's an exhaust cam.

Michael, do you mean "serviceable" as in condition of lobes or do you want one that has a good gear too...?

I may have one with a tooth or two damaged but that is serviceable iirc.

I think there's a company that makes a two piece replacement gear that installs after machining old gear off.

I had two chipped teeth repaired once, several heat increase steps, welded and then stage cooled.

Probably for the s2 motor there are blanks. not the S. not as common. Or maybe he's building a stock head.

Is there a difference in the base buildup of the cams between the S and S2 than? As far as i know they are similar?

My bad I thought the "S" was an 8v. I have the head and cam tower off of a 16v engine, don't know if it was an S or S2. Any distinguishing marks? Engine had about 90k on it. If it is an S you can have it for shipping.

I can imagine that people will want to pay for the exhaust cam! Several people want to convert dual camdrive so i would sell it for more than shipping.. But for Michael it's better to have him on your good side!

I need the 'S' exhaust cam for a stock class engine. I have S2 cams, and can trade two for one if that helps. The 'S' exhaust cams are stamped 275.04 usually on the back end of the camshaft, but sometimes along the shaft on a machined pad. The critical numbers are stamped, not cast in the camshaft.

Who has one of these??
