Talking 1986 Porsche 951 cooling fan(s) resistors

Current phase of bringing a 951 back from the dead is to repair the work of a "Wiring Mad Scientist".

Having run into a number of electrical issues then seeing a rats nest of wiring underneath the dash, I decided to remove the dash & fuse box then trace down everything that looked remotely tampered with.

I came across the last of the "Milk Crate Parts", the radiator cooling fan resistors that mount up under the passenger side foot-well. There is no wiring left there to logically connect to the double hockey puck resistors and I recall when I first came home with the car, after I shut the car off the fan would go on & off intermittently in a steady pattern. I never looked to see if it was 1 or both or any facet of their operation as I did not realize these resistors existed till recently.

I am looking for a layman's instruction on wiring these resistors into the system as the wiring diagram alone is just not giving me the clear picture of what I am doing.

Do I just tie them in from fuse box G-10 as follows ?? :

(G-10) RT/GN > tab-a > on either r e s i s t o r

> tab-b > SW/RT
>>> Fan 2
SW/RT >>>>>>> (G-10)

(G-10) RT/WS > tab-a > on other r e s i s t o r

> tab-b > RT/SW
>>> Fan 1
RT/SW >>>>>>> (G-10)

any advice, diagrams or pictures regarding above would be welcomed.

Thank you,

Nick Ricky
