strut braces

I think if you had a car 951 that was a pure race car (ie light weight, slicks, rock stiff suspension) that you would probably see the differrence with a strut-to-strut brace.
But on a street car with street tires, I've never been able to detect a difference (and I've had them on stock suspended 951's as well as 951's with full coil-over/weltmeister sway bar suspension... both with street tires).

I run on Hoosier race tires with a full weight car, the configuration that would logically cause the most flex. I'm not as worried about the actual flex under cornering and the suspension changes caused by it, but I think ANY flex weakens the car. The more it flexes the weaker it gets. I really don't think we need to go into this all over again, I just laugh thinking of the old bic pen test someone did.. I'll see if I can find the thread..

I know the arguments either way on this subject. I had to take mine off my car last week and drove for a few days without it. It makes a difference. How much is subjective. I'm convinced there is a difference, here's the deal....
If you buy one of my strut braces and install it per directions on my web site and don't like it, get it back on my desk within 30 days and I'll fully refund purchase price including ground shipping both ways.

The KLA strut brace is really nice, and the usual caveat "for the money" does not apply....it really is nicely made regardless of cost. I felt a difference in handling as did a friend of mine on this board. In my case it could purely be a placebo effect as I have no hard evidence to back my claim. Personally it was a great buy FWIW.

Not to discount the KLA bar, but if I were to get a bar (and I've had a few) it would be the Weltmeister bar.
The reason is that it "cups" the top of the strut. Specifically it limits movement of the upper perch which is where you are going to get 99% of your suspension deflection if you use factory rubber strut mounts, and is why the Weltmeister is designed the way it is.

thanks for all the info on strut braces guys, from what i can gather strut braces will make a difference but will probably be minimal and there main purpose is to make your engine bay look good, slevy951 have a turbo and new chips on order but will maybe contact you for one of these in the future
