My '86 951 has neither power door locks nor an alarm. I'm thinking about installing an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry unit and I was hoping that Porsche would make the job less expensive for me by providing the wiring to make this possible.

I think I can guess the answer to this question, but do any of you know if Porsche prewired 951's for alarm/pdl's or do I get to do this the hard way?

IIRC, the wiring for the locks is there for the center console button and control unit, but not for the lock motors in the doors. Not sure on the alarm.

My 951 has power door locks and alarm. The alarm is active, not passive. Have to turn it with a key.

Yup mine has Power door locks and Passive Alarm with key.(86) When i purchased the car i had to install an immobilizor for insurance, but i told them not to do the keyless entry thing, although the key method is not as slick as a push button it keeps my car stock and how Porsche intended at that time.
