specalized ecu repair
Hello. I had me dme and klr rebuilt by specalized ecu repair in Florida ($700). I'm having issues with a misfire after driving for a while or in high load conditions. It did not do this before the new/rebuilt ecu and I can't seem to get them to do anything to prove it is not the ecu. I have replaced all of the ignition parts trying to chase this down. Any recommendations on how to get them to fix it? I think it is an inferior ignition transistor that overheats and fails.

They have been reluctant to accept that the ecu could be the problem. This despite the fact that the problem was not there before the ecu died and I have replaced any potential problem components.

I don't have a way to log the actual output of the ignition signal to the coil which is what a suspect is the failure.
I did try another DME when mine died but that one was dead too...It seems that all of my 944 friends that could have loaned me a DME have moved away back to California or to the east coast.
I spoke to the ECU repair guys today and they think it is some other problem like a vacuum leak. this is not impossible but is unlikely given the engine rebuild I did 8k miles ago and the failure mode of the misfire.
