Default Torque Tube bearing - Experiences

Who has had new bearings installed? replacing the old 6006 bearings. (not the super bearings)

What bearings did you use?
how long have they lasted?

I used the *** 6006ZR C4 bearings. Lasted a year. not good enough.
They where $12 each.
Dont know any specs to them

I just bought new ones.
SNR 6006 FT150ZZ.
These are $40 each. They have a higher temp rating at 150°c and a higher rpm rating at 11000rpm

I think i have the same ones as you have.
I was ont he phone to CBC bearings for an hour a few weeks ago asking for new bearings. I told him i had the fag6006zr bearings and they didn't last. I asked him for the best possible bearing and this is what he told me to get.

Looks nice Pauly! I'm curious about your experience!

One question though; how do you take the bearings out? Do you remove the entire torquetube? If so, i'm guessing you have to drop the torsion bar as well?

Mine came direct from KW, though ordered through a dealer, I can't remember what delivery time they told me but they were wrong by a few weeks.

I was told by several bearing dealers that SKF explorer 6006 C4 2RS1 is a good/best choice for our TTs.

PR claims look good: http://www.skf.com/binary/21-132711/...13204_1-EN.pdf

Any actual data? looks good though.
I told them i needed something that can handle high amounts of RPM and high heat.
He was talking me though some bearings and as soon as he said 8500 rpm? i said, uhh no not though leg room. That's when he found these and people have had heaps of luck with these bearings. in extreme applications.

I get mine though a guy who gets them through KW at a cheaper rate. He originally said 10-12 days, then he said they're out of stock so 4-5 weeks.

Wrong meaning early or late?
