Default Caster block upgrade

I need to replace my caster block because mine are bad.
I read that is possible to replace them with 968's caster block (95134102301).
This upgrade is required if you want to put 17" wheels (as PORSCHE bulletin say), but if i want to maintain the 16" can i install them anyway?

Yes you can. Note that the bulletin refers to the caster eccentric, as well as the bush!

You should consider replacing this with the updated item.

Cheers,
Mike

I read that the eccentrics are the same in dimensions, but the newer ones had some grooves to maintain better the setting...
So i think that isn't need to replace them

The new pins are more reliable. They do not have any performance advantage.

I thought they don't sell the 944 one anymore, just the 968 updated one.

Well, without a whole lot more info, I won't be bending over for anything, considering I've been running the old eccentric forever, without issue.

I've had 968 casters on my 86 for years. Ran some 18" Carreras with sticky tires for 3yrs and now back on the 16" Dials. You should have no problem with 17's. Plus I don't think you can get the 944 casters anymore.
