Default Alignment Question

Getting an alignment this afternoon and was considering adding a bit more negative camber. Maybe -1.5 to -2.0 degrees. Car is a street/DE car and not a daily driver. Last track event the outside edges of the tires took a pretty good beating. Appreciate any input. TIA

I'm running -2 up front and -1 in back but I only run an aggressive street tire, not track tires. I would think with your recent mods to the rear it would stiffen things up and you wouldn't need as much camber in the rear, but I guess its really is track dependent.

Long ago I ran ~-2.0 in the front when I started DEing and needed a compromise setup. Not much 'negative' impact in street driving (just tramlined a bit more) but made a world of difference on the track.

The only way to tell is with a pyrometer and stop watch. I run 3.0 degrees on all four corners, which is what Hoosier recommends and works well for me. Temps should be a little higher on the inside because of the extra work done there pushing the car down the straight.

Shawn: If you have camber plates (I have RE) in the front adjusted to max camber you can set front "Track" camber at negative 2.75-3.25, with a little toe out (1/8" combined) and max caster. For the street, just adjust the camber plates back to their minimum camber setting, which will reduce camber to about 1.00 negative and will automatically add a little toe in. I leave the rear at 1.75 - 2.00 negative with 1/8" total toe in. Mike
