Default boost controller question

Is it possible for the diameter of hose and/or connector used to seriously affect the metered boost pressure? I'm running a Greddy Profec, and I used a standard rubber 1/8" elbow (similar to the one recommended for a normal T off the KLR line to run a boost gauge) run straight into the air filter which then runs straight into the Greddy using the supplied hose, but even with NO adjustments, I'm showing a peak boost of 1.02 kPA (which by all my inference is the equivalent of 1 bar, no?)...this seems completely wierd as the wastegate is set with a .8 bar spring, and with the boost controller set as it comes from the factory, the set is 0% and the gain is 10%...this, to me, suggests that the boost ought to max out at .8 bar, right? I was very cautious with the install, so there are no leaks, I've checked all fittings to make sure nothing is leaking, but I'm scared to take the car back out and fiddle with it if the stock setting is hitting over 1 bar. I have Guru chips, Tial 38mm wastegate, K&N filter, bursch 2.5" test pipe, with stock K26/8 turbo and Forge CBV...I'm just very worried, so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it greatly.

I should add that I don't 100% trust the autometer boost gauge I'm using as it reads close to 1psi (the top of the "0" box which it shows) without the engine running, so I'm leery that it is mis-calibrated and haven't had time to replace it) so I want some sort of feedback as to whether the reading on the Profec is reliable regardless of the size tubing used...if not, it may be back to the drawing board.

Thanks in advance,

The new Spec II should convert to psi too, or at least when I ordered mine recently I was told that... I couldn't find an instruction manual on Greddy's site.

From what I've found on Google, 1 kPa is not 1psi though. Hopefully, someone can help more.

absolutely not, afaik 1 kPA is 1 bar, 14.5psi is also 1 bar. I've converted to psi, but not really the issue...I'm more concerned with the acutal boost, not reading the values. I'm thinking after some tuning that I'm OK, as even up to 15psi it's running nice and rich with the 3bar FPR and Danno's chips, so I think I'll leave well enough alone and just figure the Autometer to be high.

Here's what I found: to convert kPa to psi multiply kPa by .14504.

You mentioned 1.02kPa, but the Profec should show either 102kPa (which is 14.79psi) or even 1.02bar (which is also 14.79psi)... but not 1.02kPa. So maybe the Profec is reading in bar?

Anyway, if the Autometer is reading a straight 15psi, it is slightly high...

Yeah, I stuck the decimal in there...my mistake. The Autometer seems to be about 1 psi on the high side...tuning and baselines helped figure that out fairly accurately...
