968 piston squirters part # ?
Does anyone have the part #? I talked to a dealer and they had never heard of such a thing. They said it was probably an aftermarket item. Thanks to all in advance.

Search the Rennlist 924/944/968 mailing list archives for it.
I think Clark Fletcher was able to track down the part number several months ago and likely posted the numbers.

A hole is drilled/machined from the crankshaft main through the web at an angle to allow pressurized oil to spray on the undersurface of the piston which cools the top of the piston when the stroke is at the bottom of the cylinder. In the photo you can just barely see two angled holes in the main webs which is where the squirters insert.

I think the addition of piston squirters would be an excellent mod for durability on a track car. My only question is: can the stock oil pump still deliver the required oil pressure to the rest of the oil galleries if it also has to supply oil to the piston squirters?

I'll add a few also:
did all 968s have the oil squirters?
And if so, did they have the same oil pump as all the 944s?

I do not think the 911 style squirters will work: they are tubular in construction whereas the 968 style looks more like a casing for a bullet with a lip at the bottom. In 968's the lip retains the squirter in the bore.
See the picture on the Kelly-Moss site.
All 968 blocks have the squirters, as best I can tell. Same oil pump as other 944 series.
The volume put out by a piston squirter is small: there is a check valve within which keeps the squirter from opening until adequate pressure is present. Certainly not enough to overwhelm the oil pump.

There's a check-valve in the 968 squirters. They only operate if oil-pressure is above a certain PSI. Otherwise, they stay closed, like at idle.
