Any 1989 951's for sale?
Looking to get back into a 944 turbo for DD/HPDE use this year. Any sorted 1989's out there for sale? Top choice is black/black and will pay a premium for one with all maintenance done and any desirable HPDE mods. Thanks!

I've got a late 88 built May 88' that appears to be a turbo S.
I just got it about 3 weeks ago. it has 75k miles and looks to have been well maintained.
one owner (until I bought it) The PO was in poor health and that was the only reason he let it go.
The engine was professionally built to be a 2.8 stroker motor in 2001 but has only had about 5-10k miles on it since then. PO spent $26k on the rebuild new rods, crank, turbo, heads, the works.
Based on the PO being elderly and other evidence (it looks like it still has the factory brake rotors on it) it has never seen the track.
I've only driven it once. when it's on the boast it's fast.
bad news on the color though...I would have rather had black too but it's Guards Red with black leather, upgraded stereo, club sport suspension, LTD slip. etc.

I have an 88 non s I would be willing to get rid of. I'm going to sort out a couple things first but if your interested pm me and I can shoot you a call and we can talk. The car has 121000 mi. Pretty much stock config only thing changed was a custom straight pipe exhaust with the stock muffler still installed

A buddy of mine that I sold a '89 951 to recently called me to sell the car for him. It is alpine white / burgandy interior with leather sport seats. All stock except for autothority chips. No rust California car, no body damage with original paint except hood was repainted by P dealer at delivery. All books/records. Remarkably good condition, you wouldn't believe it has over 200K miles. Recent rings, rod bearings, RARST forged connecting rods (stock rods were cast), head redone w/ mild port work, head gasket, water pump, belts, rollers, etc. Car did a few DE events so it has a harness bar, belts and fire extinguisher. PM me if interested. John

be patient. give it enough time and you'll get a nice one.
or build a 3.0 w/ moderate boost and have the best Porsche 4 turbo experience.

I know of a nice silver rose version - its been a well kept mild track car by one of our local instructors. Modest but good upgrades, seats, belts and a bolt in Hajny harness/roll bar.
Well kept.
email me ( chris@944enhancement.com ) and I will pass on her email contact info.

BTW - a black track car? you must have a lot of spare time if you want to keep that sharp looking!!! All track cars will pick up the occasional chip as well as brake dust....a black one is hard to keep looking really good!

Sent you a PM
Have an 89 I am tempted to turn into a track car, but hate to ruin a near perfect 89 Turbo S... I can turn an older model into a track car.

I have an 89, but it's not black/black.
It's roll-caged, I'm the second owner, have had it for the last 8 years, and have all receipts and maintenance records since new. I was a long time friend of the first owner, and he was meticulous (and a DE instructor for the PCA, based out of Sebring)
It's got a few extra goodies; mainly suspension and lighting related (including fully-adjustable Koni Yellows), the fog lights are Euros, with uprated bulbs and relays to feed them. The pop-up lights are the über-rare Marchal Amplilux, which are Euro-pattern, AND dual-reflector. (were typically fitted to LeMans racers, Ferrari, Aston Martin etc). Engine is unmolested, other than an Autothority chip.
It's Alpine white over Navy blue, with factory pinstripe seats... The seat back center panels are about to be reupholstered, since Ive been able to source a bolt of the original blue pinstripe fabric...
If interested, can provide more info, photos etc.

Three Wheelin'
I have a black track car. Looks cool but I wish I had a white one every time it's hot and sunny. Helmet plus hans plus halo seat plus long pants and sleeves plus black car with no AC equals torture.
