Default DME foldy tab things...

Other than duct tape, has anyone come up with a good fix for keeping the DME/KLR boxes together once the little fold-over tab thingies inevitably break off?

Tom, how about aluminum tape of the kind often used over wheel weights? I get it in 1/2" and 2" widths (I think) from Aircraft Spruce.

Didn't your parents warn you not to keep play with your tabs, that they'd eventually fall off?!

You can get this tape at Home Depot, it's used for sheet metal ductwork. I've used this on mine, works great. Very sticky stuff..

If ever a 944 glossory of terms was to be created, "DME foldy tab things" needs to be added!

I usually run a couple of big self tapping screws right through the middle of the DME....and then install a stand alone system!

If you go with the duct tape solution use Gorilla Tape - it is quite a few levels above duct tape for strength and stickiness'!
