Yes, he did confirm that the threads are 5/16-18 in the adapter plates. I still need to confirm whether I should attempt to drill out the flanges. I am afaid that if I try it myself with a hand drill, I will crack the flanges, then I'm SOL. I guess I have to try to find a machine shop that is open on Saturday.

Nothing is easy!!!! (venting)

there has to be something wrong, are all the adapters the same way or are these plates defective?

Yes they have standard threads and about 20 different people have installed them without issue.

I will upload a pic of these installed on my personal Tial WG with the 18 thread bolts.

I am not sure what the issue is here.

Maybe someone else can chime in and help.

In my first post I explained that the Tial has threads in the output flanges.

See below.

I would like to know the answer too. If the tial is metric the flanges should match. What did others do?

Is that an original Tial or a Chinese knockoff?

I think the issue here is that most Tial wastegates apparently do not have threaded flanges. For some reason mine did. I was able to successfully drill them out anf attach the adapter plates to the wastegate. It was not that big of a deal to do this, it just surprised me since I have poured over all the threads discussing intallation of an F38 and I never read about anyone having to do this. Well, at least the next person will know what to do if they get one with threads.

My Tial had threads. Just drilled them out and it is easy to do with hand drill. I thought they all had threads actually. The imperial threads are not a problem if in my metric country I can walk into any auto store and buy them.

I've seen some Tial 38's with threads, and yes you did the right thing to drill them out. That's what everyone has done on the past adapters when SFR and Pauer were making them.
