Hey Everyone,
I'm new, so excuse me if I didn't find this topic before posting. I did do a few searches and couldn't seem to find anything specific, mainly just baby seat info.
I just bought my first 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo and of course, there's some work to be done.
The back seat upper folding section will not latch in the upright position. I can't seem to figure this one out, so I thought I'd ask if anyone is familiar with this problem and if there are any fixes for it other than buying a new upper section.
The main latching mechanism works fine and swivels on it's hinge no problem, but I assume there is a second latch that locks that lower latch in place and the upper section in the full seat position. Any ideas?
Much Appreciated!

I always use white lithium spray grease, but I suppose WD40 would work fine for this application. I make sure to hit all the pivot points in the latch area, and then spray some with the straw underneath the buttons.

Excelerate: Are the buttons removable? I didn't want to yank on them too hard and find out they aren't removable by breaking them.
What I'm trying to get at, is if the latches woun't unhinge from the unlock position, can I replace them or do I have to get a whole new upper section rear folding seat?

mc05duck - the buttons don't pull out easily as far as I know. I just snake a straw around them and try to mask off the leather as best as I can when lubricating them

One small step towards a V8 conversion, vinyl wrap, racing wheels, and continued interior restoration...
