They actually don't handle terrible if they are set up right, They love to spin around in the wrong hands tho. If that ones awd it would probably surprise you how it sticks the corners

Agreed - the Mk2 Golf handles pretty well.

That thing looks ridiculously fun. I don't think I'd trust myself to drive it (quickest thing I've been in was a high-9s/low 10s Camaro and it was fairly terrifying) but it'd be a hoot down at the local street races LOL

That's gotta be a very expensive build - certainly if this is fairly regular treatment & its been holding together for a good mileage. There's no way a reliable 9K rpm & that power & boost can be had for peanuts!

As an exercise in engineering it's awefully impressive.

Those builds are actually more or less common over here in EU, there are many folks building Golf Mk2 and even Polo Mk1 for quarter mile events.

The blocks seem to hold the load simply because they are made of cast iron.

Check this one :

I had a mark 2 golf. Stock 1.8 liter, 16 valve motor, but I went nuts on brakes and suspension. Momo steering wheel and shift ****, recaro seats, 4 point belts...

It handled very well. I was about 3 weeks away from swapping in a supercharged motor from a Corrado (anyone remember those?) When someone swapped an empty parking spot for it instead.

I don't believe the top video at all. He doesn't catch up to traffic nearly as fast as he should be in his many videos... More like he put undersized wheels on just for the video "PROOF"...

it does spool kinda late, here is the same car vs a 900hp 996tt, it took him a while to catch up
