Default 8 year-olds drooling over the 951

So the whole family, fitted into the 951 tonight and we headed out cruisin'. We decided to drop by my dad's for an impromptu visit. As soon as we got there, the 951 was surrounded by three 8 year-old boys who live just down the street.

They immediately began to ask my 7 year-old about the 'awesome', 'real cool' race car. 'Is it a Ferrari?' 'How fast can it go?' One of the trio eventually went back to his dad. I couid to ask about top speeds for Porsche's versus his dad's Mustang. He came back bragging that his dad's 'Stang propbably handled better that the P-Car even though his admitted to a lower top speed. Then, they actually asked (and I swear this is true) to see the engine and maybe peak at the turbo. Well it was all good, clean fun.

We got back home, my 7 year-old told me all about their comments and questions. Then he said that he'd actually walked over to the Mustang dad to check out his car. So I asked him 'How was it?' He simply responded: 'Dad, it was totally RICE!'. Apparently, the car had cobra stickers everywhere and (urgh!) painted flames on the hood!

Great story

I get a few sub-10 year olds ask if the red car (Spencer) is a Ferrari, that and one time from a real homely-looking woman in a Carl's Jr. drive thru.

I had some little kid come up to me and go "that car can go 180 miles per hour! It's really fast...how'd you get a porsche?"

Good story,

same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago, but in this case, kids turned to be grown up police officers.

LOL being 8 years old again ahhh those were the days. Acutally when I was 8 the only thing I wanted for my birthday was to visit a Porsche dealer. I actually have a great picture of me from my 8th birthday party at the Porsche dealer on the back of a 911sc with my buds (yuck ) obviously there were no 944's in the area at the time of the picture. maybe I will upload the picture sometime??

Great story though! Re-hashes memorys from my child hood however I knew better about mustangs ewww.

It's amazing how many non petrolhead people think that our cars are Ferraris????

A friend of mine has a gorgeous guards red S2 Cabrio, and whilst sitting at lights with the roof down a passerby picked up his girlfriend and deposited her in the passenger seat then took a picture. The girl leaned over and simply said 'my boyfriend has always wanted a Ferrari', he didn't have the heart to tell her it wasn't one.

....and yes she was a real hottie, but he would say that wouldn't he.
