Default 89 turbo S blown head gasket

Hi, I found a 1989 944 turbo S for sale, he says it needs a new head gasket. It has a 3" exhaust with tdp, 3 bar fuel reg, boost enhancer, programable MAF, 87 000 miles. Very good condition black interior, grey exterior. Does it worth $7500 ?

I paid $6500 for my 86 turbo, it only have a DME chip, koni suspension and 16" three piece porsche wheels.

If the ceramic ports in the exhaust side are cracked... you need a good used replacement head or shell out big bucks for a brand new one. all that aside.. your looking at a minimum of $2.000 for basic parts and labor. But while your head is off, you will find a ton of while you're in there stuff to replace or modify, and now your bill will be upwards of $3,500. I would not pay $7,500 at all. Does it worth??? where are you from?

I'm from eastern canada. I would do the head gasket job by myself for sure, he also says he has every parts needed for the job.. I don't know how bad the head is tho

With a big question mark about the state of the head, absolutely not worth $7500.

Considering you still have to get it towed, pulled apart, possible head damage, put it back together, and like kev951 said, likely fix a bunch of stuff while the head is off, ya no.

Depending on the state of the rest of the car, I'd offer $5k if it's in good shape.

I disagree... At this age, the headgaskets go out on these cars for issues as benign as corrosion of the gasket material around the fire ring. With only 87k miles, this head could very well be good for another 60k miles of service, as-is. I wouldn't shy away from it at all - especially being a turbo S!

As long as the car is in good shape the Canadian price is decent providing you can do the work yourself. Yes I would try to get a better price from him if you can.
Turbo's hold a little higher price up here since there are not very many especially an 89.
When the Canadian dollar dropped 10 years ago a ton of Turbo's ended up in the US.

Post some pics if you can. For that price though there better not be any rust...Most Eastern cars tend to be bad for that.

If the car needs other work then I would say a little less.
