bolt-on rebuilt turbocharger recommendations for a semi-stock '88S

Spun main bearings right? I think I talked to the current owner on Saturday at the 928 meet.
Personally I'd do a 2.5" test pipe instead of a pricey 3", and spend the money on a M-tune.

supposed spun main bearing...looked ok from the initial photos he sent. He already has a full custom-made SS exhaust in 3" that I built when I had the car.

I'll have my turbo rebuilt by Turbokraft: excellent resource for a long-life'd turbocharger.
Can anyone add any feedback on going with a T04E compressor wheel over a K27-7200?

I had a dual ball bearing .50 Trim TO4E/KKK#8 that I thought was fantastic for a DD. Full boost at ~2800 RPM, and was holding 20psi steady to redline. Shawn (refresh951) ran it for a while also, I think he liked it as well.
I think the LR Super 53 is very similar, although I'm not sure.

It was a Garrett CHRA. Here are some pictures
