Default Best guess where oil is coming from?

Getting back into this car slowly. Not sure where the oul is coming from but after hard drive there is oil on the top of the head. As it pools in the last two large bolt recessions on the head by the 3rd and forth intake runner. It pools along where the head meets block and in recessions of the block.

I've had to replace that before but it was always leaking at the back or on the manifolds has anyone ever seen the cam gaskets fail on the intake side

It's either that or I'm pushing it out the spark plugs. Going to pull in check this afternoon.

Checked compression and was good at 140 to 145 across. But I don't think the plugs were tourqued tight enough so may have been a turn loose. Also I don't think I have the correct dipstick as it does not fit all the way in the tube. So I am probably overfilled. Will that push it out the top of the engine?

Step 1 is certainly to make sure you have the right amount of oil in it. The dipstick can get stuck 1 or 2" from being fully inserted, try twisting it and shoving it in.

It could be the cam tower gasket, seems most likely culprit given the location.
