What kind of output does a nissan alternator put out? My question was more about the one in the link as far as output goes, it would be the same physical size, no mods required for installation, as the original one with more output. My car was built to run but isnt used for track so im not super concerned with the slight weight difference. A concern of mine, is it running too much output? I believe the original was a 115 amp and this is a 200, potentially over charging or even burning wires. I like the easy bolt on upgrade, but is it over kill? Thanks again.

Search, then read, all your answers will be found. Then research basic electrical principals, but since I understand what you are wanting to know, the higher amperage output will not harm your system. Now if he swapped out the voltage regulator, then you might have an issue.

I did some research into the nissan alternator but with most of the pics missing due to the age of the posts it makes it more difficult. Im considering doing this option, I have the link to the ebay alternator you posted some time ago and the harness plug that helps clean up the connections. From what I gather to fit this alternator you need to do some slight grinding on the front tab to open the gab up a little bit and re drill / tap the hole for the tensioner arm as well as connecting the wires properly. Are you able to use the factory wire harness for this mod with the proper connector spliced on the ends? And is there any aditional modification that need to be performed that I missed for fitment besides gringing the tab on the alternator? All the more information the better thanks!

We are busy getting our *** kicked by the Dawgs! Send me a PM with Email address and I can give you all the information and pics you need. If you don't have fab skills, this is not an option though, better off with a bolt in. There is quite a bit of grinding needed on the stock mount. I took mine to the machine shop to make things quicker. The wiring is super simple. Just the grinding on the stock mount is the hard part.
