Default Fuel damper question

whats the easiest way to check the fuel damper? Ive been running rich and notice a smell of gas in the oil fill. compression numbers are great so im looking into the damper.
I havnt seen much anywhere about people having problems with them, is there an easy way to see if its ruptured?

I was just told on Wednesday by Dave Lindsey the quickest, easiest way to check the fuel damper & FPR is to have the car running, pull the vacuum line on one of them and rev the engine. In either case if the diaphragm inside is torn, you will get fuel squirting out of the vacuum line port.

I need to do this tonight or tomorrow on mine...

I will try that, I did hook an empty vacuum line to it and gave it some vacuum with my mouth, I got plenty of fumes and after a little I got some fuel, I'm assuming this shouldn't happen tho I'm not real sure the internals of a fpd

If you got gas from the vac connection, it's leaking internally and needs replacement. It should hold vacuum when tested with a hand pump.
